NAB Round 1 Preview
WESTERN BULLDOGS v ESSENDON
In the aftermath of the bushfires Victoria has been experiancing, this game suddenly takes on a lot more meaning. One would presume the teams that have been selected are significantly better than the ones that would have traveled before the venue was changed. Essendon have already had a significantly bad run with injuries and it’s hard to go past the Bulldogs on the back of last year’s form, my only concern is Essendon are good at stepping up in big games. Regardless the Bulldogs to win by 15 points in a good hit out for both clubs. Our thoughts are with the victims of the bushfires, let’s hope for a big crowd to support this worthy cause.

BRISBANE LIONS v ST KILDA Voss’ coaching debut will add even more to this game which I would have predicted to be hard fought anyway. Both clubs have named strong teams; I am excited to see some of the younger talent from both teams though. Perhaps its bias but I can’t help but think A strong polished St Kilda outfit will overcome a willing Lions team with some work to do still. Saints to win by 8 points.

FREMANTLE v RICHMOND If only Cousins was a surprise selection, we’d all be salivating for this game, regardless it will be interesting to see how both teams perform. Fremantle have been making noises about how much fitter they are compared to this time last year and expect them to have something to prove. Dockers by 22 points.
