Hawthorn – 7.9 (51)
Brisbane – 13.15 (93)
Hawthorn seem to be lacking the hunger that the clubs above them are displaying so far in 2009 and it hasn’t been displayed as obviously as it was in this clash. A hard working and intense Brisbane outfit really turned up the heat on the Hawks with an impressive 83 tackles and Hawthorn simply decided it was too hard.
Brisbane on the other hand are looking every bit a top 4 team and have really impressed over the last few weeks, they have shown they can match it with the top end and demolish teams who don’t show up to play and with Brown hitting some form wouldn’t have anyone looking forward to a game against them.
Big Moment
Kicking into the breeze in the third quarter the Lions really worked hard to kick 4 goals to the lazy Hawk’s 1. From there the Lions were able to ram home their advantage and finish the game 42 point winners.
Key Players for Hawthorn
Sam Mitchell – Unsurprisingly Mitchell was one of the few players who worked hard all day, despite being tagged Sam finished with 31 touches and more importantly led the way with 10 tackles, 12 contested possessions and 8 clearances, it’s just a shame no one followed him.
Brad Sewell – Broke even with Simon Black and actually got some of the contested ball unlike a lot of his team. Sewell’s notable stats were 10 contested possessions from his 28 and 5 clearances.
Key Players for Brisbane
Luke Power – An amazing 36 possessions and 10 tackles with Chance Bateman going with him deserves a medal. If Power continues to produce this sort of form Brisbane are going to be hard to beat.
Jonathan Brown– Really imposed himself on this game and finished with 5 goals straight as a result, perhaps he is sick of hearing about Nick Riewoldt being the best key forward in the game.

Supercoach news
Troy Selwood – Injured- keep an eye on him.
Hawthorns twin towers in Roughead and Franklin did nothing which hurts a lot of us.
Jonathan Brown is hitting some form, get on him if you can.
