Barry Hall Resigns

Big Bad Bustling Barry Hall has resigned from the Sydney Football Club today effective immediately. Hall a premiership player for the Swans and life member has made the decision to leave the club after another on field indiscretion that has put the relationship between himself and the club on ice.

Hall has stated that “The decision I have made is not just about me. It is about this football club, my team-mates, my family, my partner and my close friends”. Emphasizing that the decision relates to some of the incidents in the past years Hall went onto to say “Ultimately they have suffered grief over some of my wrongdoings and I have to take them into consideration”.

Hall has been with the Swans since the end of 2001 when he was traded from St.Kilda. His career has seen him play 250 games in total (88 with St.Kilda and 162 with Sydney) including 611 career goals and a premiership medal with the Swans. Hall has never been far from trouble in his career missing many games through suspension. But since the Brent Staker report in 2008 the forward has been under constant watch.

After his giving away of three 50 meter penalties against the Hawks and being suspended again for striking Ben Rutten of the Crows even the coach was left asking about the future of the forward. It is clear that Hall has made the decision not only for himself but also for the good of the Football club. Hall has indicated that “The next step for me is unclear, but in time, I will work through it.”

The Swans will farewell the star at this weeks game at the SCG the club are yet to announce the full details of this. The question that surrounds Barry Hall now is what will be the next step for him. Will we see him pay for another football club or could this be the door into a much talked about potential boxing career? Only time will tell.
