Melbourne – 17.10 (112)
West Coast– 13.14 (92)
The Demons showed all the heart that was expected of them and it has produced a win for the wooden spoon favorites against an unimpressive West Coast team in round 14. Melbourne really worked hard for this result and Jim Stynes will be thrilled with how they went about obtaining the four points.
A five goal to two second quarter that included a great one from Colin Sylvia from 60 meters out really set up the match for the Demons.
Key Players for Melbourne
Jack Grimes– Really stood up for the Demons whilst obtaining 29 possessions, 16 marks and laying 5 tackles.
Mark Jamar– Whilst the big ruckman only has 7 disposals, he bullied Naitanui and managed to get 29 hit outs (5 more than the entire West Coast line up)- he also snuck a goal in.
Brock McLean– 5 tackles and 28 disposals with an impressive 11 of them being contested- really worked hard all game.
