James McDonald re-appointed as Melbourne captain

James McDonald has been re-appointed as captain of the Melbourne Demons, after the players voted him as skipper for the second consecutive season.

At age 33, McDonald committed to the Demons in a one year deal, after rumours he would be calling it quits at the end of the 2009 season. McDonald said that his body is feeling the best it has felt for some time, and that he has not missed a session during the pre-season.

Melbourne, now has a 7 player leadership group, led by McDonald. The group includes previous leadership group members: Brad Green, Brad Miller, Brent Moloney and Cameron Bruce. The leadership group also includes 2 players who have been elevated to the leadership group: Aaron Davey and Jared Rivers.
