Fremantle’s Michael Johnson is being investigated over drug related matter

Fremantle’s defender Michael Johnson is currently being investigated by Western Australian Police over an alleged drug related matter that occurred in Perth on Saturday evening.

Fremantle’s chief executive officer Steve Rosich has confirmed that Johnson is being investigated by the police and that the AFL have been informed on the matter. Senior coach Mark Harvey was informed of the investigation around 6pm this evening.

It is believed that the matter involves the drug Cocaine; however there is no evidence for or against this.

At the moment both the Dockers and Police are gathering all necessary information before anything in confirmed.

Currently no charges have been laid against Michael Johnson, and both the Fremantle Football Club and Western Australian Police have stated they will not be commenting any further on the matter until a full investigation has been completed.

Michael Johnson has been stood down by Fremantle and will not be allowed to participated in any club activities; including training and playing at any club level.
