Kirk Ugle – 2010 AFL Draft Prospect

Kirk Ugle

Age: 18

Position: Small Forward

History: Specialist small forwards are out of fashion but Kirk Ugle is the exception that proves the rule, several clubs have shown interest in Ugle due to his explosive pace.

Although Ugle currently lacks the size (171cm and 69 kg) to have an impact as anything other than a small forward most who have watched him play think with the right enviorment he could make it as a midfielder as well. Ugle doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty and winning his own ball, it’s just he is better served playing outside the packs at the moment.

I wouldn’t expect him to go too high in the draft as he is a risk with his size and position but he does have the talent to make it at AFL level, expect a club to take him anywhere from pick 40 onwards. Collingwood are reportedly the most keen.

Tarrant. Davis, Dick, Blair, Kracker and now another small forward?
Yikes, how deep does this club intend to go?
