Last week the Melbourne Football Club announced their new captain who would take over the reins from retired captain James McDonald.
29 year old Brad Green was announced as the Demons new captain for the 2011 season after senior coach Dean Bailey informed him of the clubs decision.
Green said he was both moved and honoured by his new appointment and that the feeling was surreal. He said “You want to jump up and down. You are pumped, you are excited”.
Brad Green will be supported in his role by vice captains Aaron Davey, Brent Moloney and Jarred Rivers, as well as the remainder of the leadership group; Jack Grimes and Nathan Jones.

Good luck Brad
nice selection
Hi Christine,
It was rather unfortunate chain of events at Melbourne that led to the retirement Jame MacDonald last year, but I believe the club has made the correct decision appointing Brad Green as Captain.
I am looking forward to watching the Demons improve this year with some exciting football. If I can read anything into Scully’s interview earlier this week, the young kids recognize they have an opportunity to play in some successful teams sides over they next 2-5 years, and they are looking forward to playing together.
