Tonight, the AFL announced the 2011 All Australian team at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre. The team was cut down to 22 players from the 40 man squad named earlier on in the month.
The selection panel for the All Australian team is: Andrew Demetriou (chairman), Adrian Anderson, Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Leigh Matthews and Mark Ricciuto.
As well as the announcement of the All Australian team there were also 3 individual medals awarded; the Coleman Medal, Mark of the Year and Goal of the Year.
Coleman Medallist: Lance Franklin (Hawthorn)
Mark of the Year: Andrew Krakouer (Collingwood)
Goal of the Year: Hayden Ballantyne (Fremantle)

The captain is the wrong choice.
Captain should have been Judd, I agree.
I can’t imagine how you could leave Judd out of the squad. He is hardly a receiver, maybe you should look at some stats before you make ridiculous statements, Joffa Bobblehead.
Walker was robbed blind for the mark of the year. Krrakoeur’s was barely mark of the round. He wasn’t even fully up on his back. He only got up about as high as a ruckman jumping. Ridiculous.

Yep agreed, Judd should have been captain. Gablett was a stupid decision in my opinion.
There were some players who were lucky to get in. Don’t think Murphy should have been there, also don’t think Milne should have been there. Deledio and Johnson would have been better in those respective positions.
Priddis, Thompson, unlucky to not make it in. I had a feeling there would only be 1 ruckman selected, hence no Goldstein.
