Callan Ward joins GWS

Yesterday it was revealed that 21 year old Western Bulldogs midfielder Callan Ward will be leaving the Bulldogs for the AFL’s 18th team Greater Western Sydney in 2012.

It is believed that Ward informed the Bulldogs of his decision last Friday night, but received their blessing to play in the clubs last home and away game for the year against Fremantle.

Callan Ward was recruited in the 2007 National Draft, with pick number 19 and played his debut match in 2008. He has played a total of 60 games with the Western Bulldogs and kicked 33 goals

Ward is now the second player to be poached from another club by Greater Western Sydney, he joins Phil Davis who announced earlier this year that he would be leaving Adelaide and joining the new franchise for 2012.

Callan Ward will be officially unveiled at a GWS press conference tomorrow.
