Mark Harvey sacked by Fremantle

Fremantle’s senior coach Mark Harvey has tonight been sacked by the Dockers effective immediately.

In a decision that no one saw coming, Harvey has been sacked by Fremantle with one year left on his contract. Fremantle put out a statement saying “The Fremantle Football Club has today advised Mark Harvey that he would not continue as senior coach of the club in 2012”

Fremantle chief executive officer Steve Rosich said that it was a very hard decision to making but it was the best decision to make for the long term interest of the club.

It is believed that the Dockers will be holding a press conference on Friday to announce the clubs new coach for 2012.

Mark Harvey took over the senior coaching role at the Dockers after taking over as “caretaker coach” with Chris Connolly resigned in 2007. Harvey’s coaching record from 20007-2011 with the Dockers is 75 games, with 30 wins and 45 losses.
