Matthew Primus New Port Adelaide Power Coach

Matthew Primus has been appointed the new coach of Port Adelaide today with the club signing him for the next three years. Primus pipped Fremantle assistant coach Chris Scott for the position, which was a unanimous one made by the club.

Primus coached the Power in the last seven games of the 2010 season after the club sacked coach Mark Williams in round 15. Port won five of their last seven games of the season in which Primus was caretaker coach. (more…)

Woeful Western Bulldogs’ Injuries

The Western Bulldogs have been struck down with injuries just two weeks from the finals.

Key player and Brownlow medalist Adam Cooney suffered a torn hamstring in Saturday nights clash with Sydney at the SCG. Its a huge blow for the Dogs with Cooney expected to miss the rest of the year, ruling him out of the clubs finals campaign. (more…)

Rodney ‘Rocket’ Eade Defends Brad Johnson

Western Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade has defended claims that Skipper Brad Johnson should be dropped. Sacked Western Bulldog Jason Akermanis said that Johnson is “struggling big time and he is a passenger in the team that he captains.” (more…)

Hird no Assistance for Bombers

Essendon has all but ruled out handing over an assistant coach role to club champion James Hird.

Assistant coaches Scott Camporeale and Ashley Prescott are both stepping down from their roles at the end of the 2010 season, which is just a couple of weeks away. (more…)

Saints Secure 11 Signings

St Kilda has had a big week in the contract department with eleven players signing on with the club. Influential midfielder Nick Dal Santo has agreed to stay a Saint until the end of the 2013 season whilst team-mates Justin Koschitzke, Lenny Hayes, Jason Gram, Adam Schneider and James Gwilt have all signed to march on with the team until the end of the 2012 season.
