Melbourne Best and Fairest 2010 – Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Trophy
Friday, September 3rd, 2010Melbourne vs. North Melbourne – Round 22 Match Review
Monday, August 30th, 2010Melbourne – 15.13 (103)
North Melbourne – 17.11 (113)
An inaccurate Melbourne side was beaten by a less than awe inspiring North Melbourne outfit.
The last game of the home and away season was pretty close all day but North kept the scoreboard pressure on the Dees even though the Demons were dominant in passages. Ultimately it was Melbournes errors and failure to take critical opportunities that was their downfall. (more…)

11th vs. 9th
Maybe if there was a bottom eight finals series this game would have more meaning, but it doesn’t. Tom Harley thinks North would win it… maybe, but if it was at the G against the Dees they would get a run for their money.
North made short work of Melbourne earlier in the season at the Docklands but this is at the MCG where Melbourne think they can win. (more…)
Port Adelaide vs. Melbourne – Round 21 Match Preview
Thursday, August 19th, 2010SportsBet Odds: $2.00 vs $1.82*
10th vs. 12th
This game makes no difference to either team’s finals hopes and little difference to their development. No body is going to be at Football Park to watch it and nobody other than the teams’ respective supporters give a stuff who wins. Melbourne haven’t won in Adelaide since the inception of time and space. This will be James McDonald’s 2nd last game with Melbourne and possibly for others too. (more…)
Hawthorn vs. Melbourne – Round 20 Match Preview
Thursday, August 12th, 2010SportsBet Odds: $1.67 vs $2.20*
8th vs. 10th
Well this is pretty much Melbourne’s chance to make the finals. Hawthorn are treating the game like a final.
Melbourne are trying to regain the face lost in round one when Hawthorn smashed them something shocking, especially in the first half. It had to be one of the most disappointing starts to a season in the modern era of AFL.
How things change over the course of the year though. Hawthorn had a period where they couldn’t buy a win even though their injury list wasn’t that bad and Melbourne are on a three match winning streak but their best form hasn’t been on offer consistently. (more…)

10th vs. 14th
On a day where Melbourne announce they are debt free and have a new emblem they have also release a team sheet for Sunday’s clash for the Tigers. No omissions from the Demons or the Tigers yet. We shall know more come Friday afternoon. But for these two teams on the outskirts of probability of finals (Richmond are on the cliff edge); they need this game to keep those hopes burning ever so dimly. (more…)

11th vs. 6th
Brisbane’s disappointing season is continuing; they haven’t won in yonks. Melbourne put on a clinic last round against a poor Sydney outfit. That being said Melbourne suck anywhere but the MCG and haven’t won at the Gabba since Jesus was born. Melbourne smashed Brisbane last time, but that was at the home of football and Fev and Brown were lame ducks. Are they still lame ducks? (more…)
Melbourne vs. Sydney – Round 17 Match Review
Monday, July 26th, 2010Melbourne – 22.10 (142)
Sydney – 10.9 (69)
Melbourne put on a clinic in the first three quarters before Sydney added a touch of respectability to the score-line in the last. At one stage Melbourne were 91 points the better of Sydney. The Swan’s hopes of finals are drastically reduced now.
Melbourne moved the ball quickly and well. Sydney seemed off the pace; always half a meter behind. (more…)
Melbourne vs. Sydney – Round 17 Match Preview
Thursday, July 22nd, 2010SportsBet Odds: $2.30 vs $1.62*
11th vs. 6th
Sydney has beaten Melbourne every time since round 4 2006; over four years and five games ago. That last victory for the Demons was at the SCG, surprisingly which doesn’t bode well for the Demons’ home ground advantage. Sydney are coming off two healthy wins while the Demons narrowly missed out against Freo last week due to a poor start. The Demons have made the start of the game their focus along with their lack of goal scoring this year. With their best six up forward this week their will be little excuse for not kicking a winning score. (more…)
