Wednesday, April 27th, 2011One of the biggest stories of season 2010 in the AFL, James Podsiadly was nothing short of a revelation for the Geelong Cats. The second oldest player to have debuted in the last decade, ‘Pods’, as he was dubbed had an immediate impact. The 2008 J.J. Liston medallist kicked 5 goals in 6 of his first 11 matches but copped criticism late in the season due to poor performances away from Etihad and Skilled Stadium and similarly disappointing efforts in the Cats’ finals campaign.

Geelong has defeated Carlton at Etihad Stadium and has regained momentum heading into the finals in 2010. Carlton was able to stick with the Cats for most of the game but it was the second quarter in which they let Geelong skip out to a lead which really hurt the Blues.
