Carlton has convincingly taken care of an inaccurate Essendon outfit to break a 6 game losing streak against the Bombers. It was a tough contest in the first half with the stats fairly even, but unfortunately for the Bombers they were abysmal in front of the big sticks and effectively kicked themselves out of the game. Essendon has finally put its name back on the winners list after defeating a North Melbourne side that was forced to use all of their named emergencies before the match began. It was a close affair for much of the night, and one that saw each team control portions of each quarter. Essendon looked home when they got to 15 points up deep into time on, but North fought back and brought the margin down to just three points with 35 seconds left on the clock. (more…)
