NAB AFL Phantom Draft – 2010

Here’s a look at how the NAB AFL Draft might unfold. James has based his decisions based on his rankings of the talent and the needs of each club. Much has been talked about how the Gold Coast will draft but they basically just need to select the best players they can. Knowing the order that they will select them in is fairly difficult as is Essendon’s selections with the introduction of Hird and Bomber Thompson could throw a spanner in to the works. (more…)

Luke Parker – 2010 AFL Draft Prospect

Luke Parker

Age: 18

Position: Midfielder

History: Parker is a goal kicking midfielder that has been rated for a couple of years now. He sounds like a good all round player with excellent skills without being elite, good pace without being zippy, and good hands when both marking and handballing. He is good both inside and outside and is able to get his hands free to get the handball off when he is in trouble.

He has spent his time at the Dandenong Stingrays since 2008, and made the 2009 TAC Cup Team of the Year along side 2009 draftee Ryan Bastinac and 2009 #1 Draft Pick Tom Scully. He kicked 36 goals and played every game last season, and was in the Stingrays bests on 10 occasions. (more…)
