SportsBet Odds: $1.38 vs $3.10
13th vs. 16th
Port Adelaide has defeated West Coast on 6 of their past 7 encounters. The only time that West Coast got on top in that time was played at Subiaco, but they also lost at that venue twice to the Power in the same period. Each team is purely playing to gain some sort of respect back because finals is out of the question for both. (more…)

SportsBet Odds: $1.09 vs. $9.30
3rd vs. 15th
This is a must win for both teams, but for completely contrasting reasons. Collingwood sits third on the ladder after the midpoint of the season. They are half a game behind both Geelong and St Kilda and half a game above Fremantle. The Pies will want to win this and will be hoping both Geelong and St Kilda lose, so they can jump to top spot or that one loses, so they can move to second.
West Coast on the other side of the ladder in fifteenth position will want to win badly, so they will not be in contention for the wooden spoon. If the Pies defeat them and Richmond defeats Sydney it’s the bottom of the ladder for the Eagles. (more…)

SportsBet Odds: $1.20 vs. $4.60
6th vs. 14th
Last week both these teams learnt exactly what was required to be a top 4 team and a genuine premiership threat. The Blues got a taste of exactly what Hawthorn is capable of and the Eagles learnt that you can never let a side like St Kilda off the hook.
Both teams will be looking to bounce back this week and will believe they are a realistic chance of winning this clash. (more…)

Everybody is surely sick to death of the comparison between Nic Naitanui and Jack Watts, so lets compare two number two draft picks that are a year apart; Jack Trengove and Nic Naitanui. It’s very hard to compare a midfielder and a ruckman but I’m going to give it a shot. (more…)

SportsBet Odds: $1.35 vs. $3.25
10th vs. 13th
Melbourne go in as favourites this week against an in form West Coast. The Eagles beat Hawthorn last week at home and looked pretty good against a Hawthorn that has allegedly lost it’s mojo.
Melbourne on the other hand had a close defeat last weeks to the hands of the Bulldogs on a wet pink MCG.
Contrary to popular belief Melbourne lost last time they played West Coast, I should know, I was there. So next time you come commenting about the quality of our research remember that sometimes we are better than the big boys.
West Coast have a bad record at the MCG and interstate for that matter. Melbourne can’t seem to win away from the venue.
Watts has been selected so expect the normal media circus. Selwood is a big in for West Coast, considering he was best on last time they played.

West Coast –15.12 (102)
Hawthorn –14.10 (94)
The West Coast Eagles have arguable put a nail into the coffin of Hawthorn’s finals chances for 2010 after defending the 2008 premiers by 8 points and winning only their second game of the season at Subiaco on Saturday afternoon.
The first quarter was an even affair with both teams scoring 3.1 to the first break. The Eagles were able lift their game and dominate from the second quarter onwards, however were only able to hold onto a 7 point margin leading into the last quarter. (more…)

SportsBet Odds: $1.60 vs. $2.35
14th vs. 13th
Both West Coast and Hawthorn are sitting at the same win-loss ratio for the season so far at 1-6. The only thing that seems to be separating them is a percentage of 5.01, in the Hawks favour.
By the looks of things both teams are also out of finals contention for season 2010, so can either team gather a few games together to resurrect some pride?
In these two teams previous five encounters the Hawks have won 4 (by an average of 45 points) to the Eagles 1. The Eagles however, have won the most recent match last season at Subiaco by a total of 20 points.
I honestly do not think recent encounters are anything to go by in this match, as both teams are struggling to win games this season, so the match should be a good one to watch.

SportsBet Odds: $1.17 vs. $5.10
3rd vs. 12th
These two teams have had some classic encounters over the years, and it doesn’t usually matter how the teams are going much is the case with rivals. Recent years have seen some close encounters between the Swans and Eagles with the margin often seen at less than a goal at the final siren. The most notable encounters would be the Grand Finals of 2005 and 2006. This should be a good game again, although Sydney have looked much better this season. (more…)

SportsBet Odds: $1.61 vs. $2.35
14th vs. 12th
West Coast has the home ground advantage again this time around and has a good record against the Bombers at Subiaco in recent times. Essendon will be looking to back up their first win of the season last week with a second and start a climb up the ladder. Meanwhile the Eagles are looking for their first win of the season, and will no doubt be desperate to do that in front of a home crowd. (more…)

West Coast – 12.14 (86)
Port Adelaide – 13.11 (89)
In a match which saw both West Coast and Port Adelaide lead and dominate for periods in the match, the Power come out the eventual winners by 3 points to help celebrate veteran Warren Tredrea’s 250th.
Port Adelaide lead after the first change by 17 points and by three quarters of the way through the second term they had extended their lead to 27. But West Coast was far off being done at dusted. The Eagles kicked the next 6 goals of the match, to lead by 13 points at the last change of ends and seemed like they were going to run away with the win. The Power then come out fighting in the final quarter kicking 4 unanswered goals in the first 10 minutes of the quarter, to seal the win. (more…)
