10th vs. 14th

On a day where Melbourne announce they are debt free and have a new emblem they have also release a team sheet for Sunday’s clash for the Tigers. No omissions from the Demons or the Tigers yet. We shall know more come Friday afternoon. But for these two teams on the outskirts of probability of finals (Richmond are on the cliff edge); they need this game to keep those hopes burning ever so dimly. (more…)

Best Supercoach Team – Round 18 2010

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

In comparison to some other weeks, this week’s score was a little disappointing. Still, it is more than anybody actually scored so we can’t really complain that much. For the second week running Dane Swan (152) is captain as he continues his fine form. (more…)

Richmond vs. Adelaide – Round 18 Match Review

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

Richmond – 15.10 (100)
Adelaide – 11.14 (80)

Richmond has killed Adelaide’s hopes of sneaking into finals with a 20 point win at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.

In slippery and windy conditions the first quarter was pretty even, with many turnovers occurring due to the weather conditions. In the second quarter the play was dominated by the Crows, however they were pretty inaccurate in front of goal kicking 4 goals and 9 behinds. (more…)

Richmond vs Sydney – Round 14 Match Preview

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

SportsBet Odds: $2.12 vs $1.73

16th vs. 7th

On paper this match looks pretty simple. Richmond have only beaten Sydney once since 2004, and even then it was only by a point. Richmond also sits on the bottom of the ladder and Sydney look like playing finals. But I just have a feeling an upset is on the horizon. (more…)

ContestedFooty’s start of the year preview

15th-16th There is still a lot of ability on the Tigers list but they are going to struggle for a few years regardless. I like young Martin and think he’ll have a pretty quick impact at senior level and if the likes of Cousins, Deledio and Foley decide they have had enough of ‘passable ’ football then the Tigers have the ability to snag eight or nine wins in 2010. The reality is though they will be lucky to win six or seven in what will be another long season for Tigers fans.See the preview here. (more…)

Richmond vs. St Kilda – Round 11 Match Review

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Richmond – 8.11 (59)
St Kilda– 14.13 (97)

A pretty scrappy game early but the Saints again have done enough to win at Etihad stadium. The first term was not great to watch with only two goals being scored. The Saints set up the win in the second term kicking 6 goals to 3 and never really looked back from there. (more…)

Essendon vs Richmond – Round 9 Match Review

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Essendon – 19.16 (130)
Richmond – 14.11 (95)

Richmond has slumped to its 9 consecutive loss to continue its dismal start to season 2010. Their opponents, Essendon, burst out of the blocks to kick the first 7 goals of the match in a display that really set up the win. Richmond showed some fight after quarter time, and actually won the final quarter, but it wasn’t enough after their slow start. Essendon won the Dreamtime match by 35 points, and had an amazing 14 different goal kickers. (more…)
